Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes what data CheckClause collects, how we use it, and your rights. Contact: privacy@checkclause.com.

1. What We Collect

When you use CheckClause, we collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Account data — email address when you sign up (directly or via Google OAuth).
• Uploaded documents — contract text you submit for analysis. Documents are processed in memory and are not stored permanently unless you are a registered user (in which case analysis results are saved to your account).
• Usage data — anonymous usage counts for guests (hashed IP + user-agent fingerprint, not personally identifiable).
• Payment data — handled entirely by our third-party payment provider. We never see or store your card details.

2. How We Use Your Data

• To analyze contracts using AI and return results to you.
• To enforce usage limits (free tier / paid tier).
• To save your analysis history (registered users only).
• To process payments and manage subscriptions.

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. AI Processing

Your contract text is sent to Anthropic’s Claude API for analysis. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train their models. See Anthropic’s Privacy Policy.

4. Data Storage

Account and analysis data is stored on our own infrastructure hosted in the European Union. Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and access is restricted to our service.

5. Data Retention

• Guest fingerprints — automatically deleted after 30 days.
• Analysis history — retained while your account is active. You can request deletion at any time.
• Account deletion — email us and we will delete all your data within 7 days.

6. Cookies

Essential cookies — used to keep you signed in. These are always active, as the service cannot work without them.

Analytics cookies — we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used. Until you decide, it runs in a cookie-free mode: no analytics cookies are stored, no identifiers are kept, and only anonymous signals are sent. Accepting enables analytics cookies; declining prevents the analytics script from loading at all and deletes any analytics cookies already set. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time via the Cookie settings link in the footer.

We do not use advertising cookies and we do not sell your data.

7. Your Rights

You can:

• Access your data via the Dashboard.
• Request a copy of your data.
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
